Mother's Love

Mother's Love is an award-winning original pastel painting exploring one of the most universal bonds in nature — the connection between a mother and her young. In this portrait, I wanted to move beyond simply capturing the physical beauty and extraordinary character of gorillas. My focus was the tenderness of the relationship between them — the instinct to protect, the feeling of safety and the quiet emotional connection between mother and child.
